The Septile Circular: July 2020
Greetings, dear reader!
I'm going to make an executive decision this month and push-off the analysis of previous outer-planet 7H-heavy years until next month's circular, or flat-out decouple it from these circulars. My focus and interest is squarely on COVID-19/USA Pluto return stuff right now - and something tells me you might be interested there also. If I can get analysis of 2020 completed, then that topic can rest until 2021 approaches - and then in the meanwhile we can get a better sense of what's to come when the 7H aspects get intense this autumn.
So! Sweet but not quite quick, there are two interesting things going on this month:
Secondly, this rather notable gap at the start of the month happens to be the longest gap of the year in terms of the absence of non-lunar septile activity. I attribute a lot of this to both the Mercury and Venus retrogrades. These quicker-moving planets generally make their rounds to the slower planets and objects every month as they traverse each sign, but, either in being restricted to a set number of degrees thanks to their retrogrades or otherwise moving slow around their station points, they're lucky if they hit anything. You read me right. Retrograde inner planets are like Star Wars Storm Troopers.
Further, much like the first week, the rest of the month goes quiet. Juno here shines, reaching out to the Capricorn crew and then the other outers and North Node in 7H alignment: all generational social contracts are up for renewal. The Sun and then Venus, getting back on her game, also pick up their pace in the second half of the month, singing fire and mirth: take the positive before some of this energy wears out its welcome.

So! Sweet but not quite quick, there are two interesting things going on this month:
- Saturn septile Neptune, both retrograde (#2 of 3 this year)
- The complete absence of any non-lunar septiles between June 30th and July 6th this year. Followed by a rather quiet month for the same, in general.
Firstly, to Saturn-Neptune: the first Saturn-Neptune biseptile emerged the last week of January, perfecting itself the second week of February and then trailing off as March came 'round. This was the interaction of nebulous disease overcoming national boundaries and the dithering of the authorities in not moving quicker to prepare their countries, happy to be distracted in fantasies of being able to wish it all away and not assume responsibility.
With this aspectual recurrence, we find ourselves in the midst of raging debates about whether to convene in-person schooling in the autumn and re-open other locations like Disney World at the present moment. To lockdown or to be consumed in disease? Again, in the U.S. we find authorities (and some parents, pressured by the need for balance while trying to earn a living) eager to go back to business-as-usual. In both instances the forces interacting with Saturn highlight Saturn's non-childlike nature and its role - and their potential undoing.
Still, we're in an era where both Neptune and Saturn are in their places of power, Pisces and Capricorn/Aquarius. Yet, the parameters and risks of this disease that appears to attack the vascular system - Neptune's porous fluid pathways mimicking boundaries - are absent the clarity of Saturnian definition. Is it that what was once tried and true, rules to live by to which you could set your clock, suddenly turn into Dali paintings? Time itself has become fluid. Years happen in days. More happens in a week than some decades. Those in the business of fantasy may find themselves deluged by the very thing they promote. Slicker than eel snot politicians (pace Dan Rather), eager to project a sense of dutiful, unworrisome sobriety to the voters, find themselves colliding with the cold hard reality of the one who carries a scythe.
Speaking personally, this energy has a certain feel to it that I'm not sure if I've felt before. Reading the headlines, the mind feels sluggish, wading through fog which hits louder and clearer around this topic than fog has a right to be: like a steamroller which is both the metal roller and the steam at the same time. Perhaps deep-sea divers and those who've experienced hyperbaric pressure chambers could comment? It's as though one knows there is real danger, but in reaching out for structures to address it finds their hands not touching a wall but a tidal wave instead. Neptune in all his earth-trembling quality speaking clearly through the ethers, offering no form for Mercury's mind to grasp but instead the overwhelm natural to a trans-Saturnian planet. Perhaps Mercury's second recent retrograde through Pisces didn't feel as brutal as 2019's because it was more a continuation of this aspect's fading energy?
In looking ahead, the third and final septile between these two planets is one to watch-out for: it comes within 1.5 degree orb starting October 20th, perfecting on November 10th and fading out around November 29th. Mark the feel of this as it's happening now, then be wary of October Surprises. With everything else going on astrologically at that time, including another Merc retrograde, it doesn't seem like energy supportive of sober decision-making. Perhaps our challenge is in reasserting communal standards from an individual-by-individual level. If they say "good fences make good neighbors" could the converse, "good neighbors make good fences" (against so much smoke and mirrors), also be true?
