The Septile Circular: September 2020
September's 7th harmonic astrology ramps up in quantity of exact aspects in comparison to other months in 2020, with nearly 160 hitting us. There's a lot of static in the air from these, in addition to all the other astrology occurring. That said, this month's aspects are more small-ball than anything else.
There's very little on the solely-outer-planet front this month. We have the lingering, refranating Uranus-Neptune opening septile as part of the Cataract pattern with Saturn (Saturn=catarrh, Uranus=ACT!, Neptune=where did I leave my glasses again?), as described in last month's circular. The septile in question has been going since the end of July, came within 1 degree of orb in the middle of August and peaks without perfecting by September 20th, and then fades out over the next couple months, to resume in 2021. But a reminder as we get distracted by other major astrology and world events as the year winds down: Saturn in this pattern could well be a stabilizing force for the old status quo, perhaps a belief or a pulse in the heart or a bit of clockwork logic in the mind about the way the world has always worked (or should always work). When the Cataract breaks-up towards the end of this year, gushy Neptune will no longer be able to mediate these two Titanic forces with vague platitudes and idealisms. All will be laid bare, gray marble against gorilla glass, as Saturn and Uranus go toe-to-toe in squares lasting through 2021.
Meanwhile, our quick-moving personal planets take their turns around the zodiac and, along with the goddess asteroids, stroll through hot spots connected to the Cataract. A simple way to make sense of all these small-ball aspects is to note the order in which the outer planets and (true) North Node will be aspected. At the start of the month, before the actual pattern becomes activated by transit, the personal planets will hit first Jupiter then Pluto, followed by North Node, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune with no in-between from other bodies. By the end of the month, though, the North Node will have retrograded enough to swap places with Pluto. The outer planets aren't the only objects receiving aspects, but this is a pattern which will recur again and again over the months. We'll probably note the slight change in melody as Jupiter and Saturn station direct and begin moving towards their conjunction at 0 Aquarius on the Winter Solstice, by which time this pattern will have broken.
We do have an interesting but brief septile yod to keep an eye out for on the 15th, when transiting Mercury briefly slips into the apex position with Uranus and Neptune as the base while Mars-Vesta (exact on the 5th) and South Node-Chiron make symmetrical biseptiles about the yod's axis. When the Moon falls between 22 and 24 degrees Leo that day, a second septile yod is briefly formed with Moon-Mercury as the base pointing back to Neptune (Moon also biseptiling Uranus). Head's up those with positions from 12-18 Libra and 17-21 Pisces - lightning from the gods is giving you the hairy eyeball.
In a mundane sense this reads like a mixture of transcendental communication surrounded by heavy fog thanks to connections between the three shapeshifters of the heavens (Moon, Mercury and Neptune). We have the two closest and two furthest planets head-to-head while sharing a Mercury-Neptune triseptile. The way Mercury-Neptune and Mercury-Uranus hard aspects have played this year, keep an eye out for tech mishaps with a flavor of gobbledygook. Mercury in the middle of Libra suggests some form of equivocating speech, perhaps a balancing act between scientific materialism/faith or consumer tech titans laying out gassy feel-good doublespeak.
Still, septiles being inherently of a Uranus-Neptune nature and Uranus & Neptune inherently being of a super-physical nature could imply intense periods of insight, of seeing the secrets behind the veil, which test your personal physical limitations, particularly with Neptune's boundlessness. The Sun opposes Neptune also this month, which may intensify the experience. Unless I have spirits reading my blog, your own physical nature will likely conflict with the potential transcendental downloads you're getting. Try to give yourself time and space to absorb and reflect - to adapt this material through the 7 heavenly spheres down to earth.
Other moments of note this month:
My apologies on the delay: transits have been demanding a lot of stepping back to process, revise foundations and do some personal reworking. It may be a little lean over the next few months until I get clearance with the Jupiter-Saturn conjunction, but I owe you all a couple of pieces yet, plus monthly circulars.

Other moments of note this month:
- Chiron and the true lunar South Node weave in and out of a biseptile over several days on the 7th, 10th and 14th.
- September 10th is a big day overall. The Moon moves through one of the points on the Cataract's 7-pointed star in Gemini, following-up with hits to the Cataract itself the next day on the 11th. Additionally, Mercury begins transiting the Cataract star from mid-Libra for a week (emphasis on the 14th-16th, which also features a Venus-Mars aspect).
- The same as Mercury does his tour through the Cataract Star, Venus first makes a lucky aspect to Jupiter on the 18th and then begins her grand tour the 18th through the 27th, emphasis on the 25th-27th with Saturn, Uranus and Neptune.
- It gets hot on the 21st-23rd as the Sun makes combative aspects to Eris, Pallas and Mars. Mind thy fiery words!
- Last, we get another lunar-heavy day on the 29th with Mercury shooting off a couple aspects himself to the South Node and Chiron (standing biseptile already in place). He'll get a bit quiet for his upcoming retrograde soon enough.
